BElieve in Teams!
Over the last couple of weeks, I have had the pleasure of sharing some great team building events with many of you in the Department and am delighted by the spirit that has prevailed. Firstly, I would like to thank all of you who participated in the CERN Relay race on 9 June. As well as several individual and team achievements in the various racing categories, the BE Department received the third prize for the best represented Department, a first for a department of our size, with some 191 BE members taking part. Last week, we then held our BE team building event in Divonne-Les-Bains, with some 200 of us taking part in Dragonboat racing, volleyball and “pétanque”. I would like to reiterate my thanks to the organisational team, O. Barriere, D. Bail, H. Cornet, E. Laderi, Y. Le Borgne, H. Martinet and E. Veyrunes for the huge effort that they put in to bring this event together. The day was an immense success conducted in an excellent team spirit, with the wonderful weather, fun activities, and good food and drink, giving us the first real opportunity to get to know each other as a Department. I sincerely hope that those who participated enjoyed it as much as I did. With the summer holidays approaching, I take this opportunity to wish you all a much-deserved break and look forward to sharing future events with you.
